Hi!
We are excited be offering the TenThousandVisions 12-week mentorship program once again for dedicated artists looking to expand their skill set. This program is for artists who want to:
• Learn techniques for translating your raw ideas and feelings onto the canvas
• Broaden your understanding of effective expression through discussions about composition, color theory, art history, and more
• Deepen your relationship with your art, grounding to your artistic path.
We will meet twice a week via Google Meet, alternating sessions taught by both Michael and Violet. One session per week will be a group session in a demonstration/lecture style format, while the second session will be one-on-one with each student to discuss your own work and progress.
In the sessions, we will develop, discuss, and demonstrate various creative techniques, talk about approaches to art making, and explore aspects of the creative path as we work towards creating a fully realized painting. Each student will complete assignments each week that move through each of the steps to create their own painting through initial sketches, drawings, underpainting to finish, with weekly, one-on-one coaching and guidance from your mentors.
Some of the topics we will cover include:
• Drawing out your personal creative language
• Exercises designed to develop your artistic vision
• Explorations of art history, theory, composition, and more
• Methods for overcoming the obstacles that inhibit your creativity with Step-by-step guidance on developing a finished work
• And MUCH MORE with the direct intention to help YOU become a better, more confident artist
We will adhere to a structured syllabus from the beginning so you can plan ahead and know what to expect every step of the way. Materials list and reading recommendations will be provided before the start of the first class. Commitment to the process is required and honesty, openness, and a willingness to communicate are a must. We expect you to go deep and explore the fears and roadblocks on the path as well as the satisfaction we find when we touch on the brilliance of success.
